How to keep jewelry in good condition for as long as possible
Jewelry is a symbolic element that reflects your personal style. To ensure you can enjoy it for a long time, you should treat it with the same care you would your finest clothing. Here are some tips on how to properly care for your jewelry:
-
Wear your jewelry appropriately : Choose suitable occasions to wear your jewelry and consider in advance whether you will be performing activities that could damage it, such as cleaning, sports, cooking, bathing, or DIY projects. Put on and take off your jewelry before leaving the house and immediately upon returning home. Also, avoid using body creams, hairsprays, and perfumes, and allow sufficient time between applying these products and putting on your jewelry—ideally at least 10 minutes.
-
Proper jewelry storage: Give your jewelry its own safe place. Store it in a jewelry box, pouch, or case with a soft lining. This will prevent dust, moisture, and mechanical damage, which are the most common causes of jewelry damage.
-
Do not store jewelry together : Due to the delicate surface treatment of individual pieces, it is unsuitable to store them together. Contact with other metals can cause scratches or oxidation. Avoid storing them with coins, for example, in a wallet.
-
Proper Jewelry Cleaning : Never use toothpaste, soap, chemical cleaners, or rubber or latex gloves to clean your jewelry. These substances can damage the surface of the jewelry and cause it to lose its shine. Also, avoid contact with creams, hairsprays, and perfumes. A common characteristic of silver is its tendency to yellow quickly, which is more noticeable on large polished surfaces. This can be removed by repolishing. Silver jewelry can be easily cleaned in warm spring water with a very soft cotton cloth. Gently remove dirt and dry the jewelry with a dry, again very soft, cotton cloth. With proper care, our jewelry will bring you much enjoyment.
-
Do not adjust the jewelry yourself : If you need to adjust the size of the jewelry or make any other alterations, please consult a professional. We are happy to advise you and offer customization options according to your wishes. Under no circumstances should you attempt to alter the jewelry yourself.
